Stumbled upon this place on a hot day with the intention of getting a cold drink. To my surprise, I walked in to see the clerk and a customer speaking in Japanese which meant I immediately ordered some food and was not disappointed. Their food sets are very reasonable, and has a nice collection of art for sale in the dining room.

The onigiri was so good! I tried the beet one and salmon one. Both were fresh, authentic and extremely tasty. The plate I got had it paired with miso soup and karage chicken, which was tender and flavourful. I can’t wait to come back and try other things on their menu, including their fresh made pastries.

I always love stopping by here on my way to Cincinnati. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is so friendly. The food never disappoints. My favorite thing to order here is the Karage meal with a salmon onigiri and then getting a sweet treat. There are no bad choices when it comes to their bakery items. 10/10 Highly Recommended

I have been coming to Chako for years! I personally love the curry Chako serves on Fridays, but I also really enjoy the karaage and onigiri combo set. The karaage (fried chicken) is moist and perfectly crispy. I love squeezing the provided lemon wedge over the chicken, to deepen the complexity of the flavor. I have tried multiple menu items from Chako, including desserts and savory pastries. I have never had one bad item here, ever! Chako creates different desserts consistently too, so I feel like I get to try a new one each time. My personal favorites so far are the Mango Mousse cake and the Strawberry Cream cake. The desserts are always flawlessly light and refreshing, without being too sweet like many American desserts. Chako, the owner, is also incredibly kind and personable! She is always on-site and is an active participant in her business. She is always willing to answer any questions you might have about the menu, and provides great recommendations. If you are looking to support a locally-owned small business with wonderful food and service, look no further! I highly recommend Chako, and I always recommend this place to many people.

Very excited that we stepped foot into this bakery as part of the Cookie Battle! We’ve walked by before but never stopped in. We had no idea they also served sandwiches and had a dine in section in the back! Very excited to come back for lunch! The Mont Blanc and the cookies were delicious. So glad we stopped in!
